I know buying ethically can be hard. Where can I buy it? Is it affordable? How do I know if it’s ethical?
Here is my rule of thumb: If you are looking to buy something trendy, that you probably won’t wear 6 months from now – buy it from a fast fashion brand. If you are looking for a basic that you plan to wear for a couple years, invest in ethically conscious brand. Chances are it will become your favorite pair of jeans or shirt. Ethical brands tend to invest in high quality material, which means it will last longer and you can feel great knowing no one suffered in the making of your clothes. Here are a few of my favorite ethical online retailers.
Really affordable jeans and tees and everything is made in LA.
High quality basics that cut out the middle man. They sell directly to the consumer and tell you exactly how much it costs to make every item. They also vet all of their factories and you can learn about each one.
Zady is on online retailer dedicated to ethical fashion. You can find a huge range of items from clothing to home goods.
Asos – The Eco Edit
Asos carries several brands that are eco-friendly and sustainable. My favorite brand is Closet. Everything is designed and made in London.
Luxury basics. While items are a bit on the pricier end, they are worth it. Classic, clean and fresh.
