Marla Rausch, CEO and founder of Irvine-based Animation Vertigo, a motion capture animation company. Her company has been involved with Call of Duty by Activision, Mortal Kombat and Injustice: Gods Among Us by NetherRealm, and Beyond: Two Souls by Quantic Dream. The company started when her husband’s company was always going through. They would hire and train mo-cap artists, release them when the show was done and then have to rehire and retrain for the next project. And in the long run, that was more costly for companies. So she started Animation Vertigo to solve that problem.
Being born and raised in the Philippines, Rausch wanted to introduce the industry to the vast creative talent of artists from the country. She established a production center in Manila, while managing things from the US. And if you know anything about cross site businesses (part of my past life), communication and technology can be challenging, so more power to her!
